Halloween has always been a bust for me.
My lack of creativity started off at an early age when I insisted my Wonder Woman underoos sufficed as a costume. Obsessed with Lynda Carter, I was the same character 3 years in a row, minus the Lasso of Truth, tiara, or truth bracelets. (my mom wasn’t a crafty D-I-Y person, so the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.) I only remember my sister being a Hobo, so I was rather content being a boring superhero versus a dirty homeless person. My recent fail was wearing a Burger King mask while trick-or-treaters came by and quickly ran away when I opened the door with my bowl of candy. Come to think of it, that plastic mask is down right creepy.
Why not make Halloween into a fashion event? How can one emulate the best iconic character in a chic and trendy way? Turns out, for a shopaholic, this isn’t too difficult.
Inspiration: Michael Jackson in Thriller. Who cares when asked “who are you supposed to be?” because you can wear each piece separately. ALL. SEASON. LONG.
Have fun shopping this look and piecing together your fabulous costume for 2016.
